Medical Declaration Forms

This form MUST be completed by anyone that is representing Great Britain or their Home Country internationally or competing in a British Swimming, ASA, SASA or WASA National event (all disciplines, excluding masters) and returned to the ASA Membership Department at the address below.  A new form MUST be completed annually even if the medication prescribed has not been altered or if no medication is being taken and whenever the medication is changed.

Open Water Grand Prix – 2008

The 5K Grand Prix series is to be reintroduced in 2008 based on the events shown.

 6th July Preston Beach, Weymouth
 12th July Wykeham Lakes, Scarborough
 13th July Bosworth, Leicestershire
 20th July Whitlingham Lakes, Norwich
 10th August Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham

Prizes will be awarded on the following basis:
At each event, awards will be made of £50 for first place, £30 for second place, and £20 for third place, for each sex.

In addition, awards will be made in the General Classification of £100 for first place, £60 for second place, and £40 for third place, for each sex.

The ASA Technical Open Water Committee shall appoint an Observer to each competition.

Ranking and points System
· There will be separate rankings for men and women.
· In each of the Grand Prix events, points will be awarded as follows

1st 22 points  9th  9 points
2nd 19 points 10th 8 points
3rd 16 points  11th 7 points
4th 14 points  12th 6 points
5th 13 points  13th 5 points
6th 12 points  14th 4 points
7th 11 points  15th 3 points
8th 10 points  16th 2 points
All remaining finishers  1 point 

General Classification
· Competitors may participate in all events and collect points.  Four results, which must include the Grand Prix Final, the British Championship 5km on 10th August, will count towards the General Classification
· In the case of a tie in the General Classification, the result of the ‘Grand Prix Final’ will be decisive.
