Favourite event: It changes for each competition!
Finest ever performance/Why: Commonwealth Games 2006 in Melbourne. In the 400m I,M, I won gold and broke the British Record. I am proud of that swim because I feel it was the best I physically could have done in that event.
First senior international meet: Commonwealth Games 2002 in Manchester, competed for Scotland
Role models: Ian Black. He was my old headmaster and swam back in the 1950’s. I believe he was BBC Sports Personality of Year also.
My aspirations are: To win an Olympic Medal and be successful
Tip for the top: Be the best you can be in whatever you choose to do.
Life after swimming: No idea. A long happy career if whatever I do.
Music: Not really into music, I prefer books, like a Grisham novel
If I wasn’t a swimmer I would be a: I would be at university looking forward to a career in business.
Football, Cricket or Rugby: Rugby. It’s more exciting. I enjoy watching Scotland.
Describe yourself in three words: Cool, calm and collected
Most prized possession: I don’t really have any. Material things don’t really matter to me.
Biggest influence on career: Ian Black, my old headmaster and my Dad.
Sporting relations: My Dad represented Scotland in Water Skiing.
