First sporting success: Winning the Northern Counties District Championships aged 14
Finest sporting moment: I don't really have one that stands out from the rest
Tip for the top: You can only race as hard as you train
First GB selection year: 2004. I went to Vienna for the European Short Course Championships- it was an amazing experience
Sporting hero: Mark Spitz
Closest friend in sport: Charlotte Crookall-Nixon, my girlfriend
Other sporting successes: I used to run. I was district champion in the 1500m
Favourite sport other than swimming: Rugby
Three words that best describe you: Dedicated, cheerful and friendly
Would most like to meet: No one in particular
Most prized possession: My mini disc player
Biggest influence on career: My parents
Toughest opponent: Myself. I'm really competitive and never satisfied. I always try to push myself further in the next race even if I've set a new personal best time and swam really well in the previous race.
Biggest passion away from swimming: Food! I love pizza and lasagne.
Biggest disappointment: I take every experience I have and use it to improve myself
Favourite venue and why: Ponds Forge, Sheffield because I always swim well there
Tips to relax: Listen to a bit of music
Education: I'm in my second year of sixth form right now studying physics, chemistry, product design and general studies.
Family: My mum is called Julie and she's a dinner-lady in a primary school. My dad is called Andrew and he's a self-employed plumber. I also have two younger sisters called Laura and Zoe
Ultimate ambition: To go to the Olympics. If I get to Beijing in 2008 then that would be fantastic
