GENERAL INFORMATION

Favourite event: That changes! It’s the 200m Freestyle at the moment as that is the event I have qualified for the Olympics in, and generally do better in.

Finest ever performance/Why: Olympic Trials 200m Freestyle Final. I was simply prepared physically and mentally, and booked my spot for Beijing.

First international meet: European Junior Championships 2005, I won a silver medal in the 200m Freestyle.

Role models: Lewis Hamilton. He is so young and handles himself really well. Tiger Woods because he is so mentally prepared and keeps going. Also Michael Phelps as he is the greatest swimmer ever.

My aspirations are: To win a medal in the 4x200Free Relay in Beijing, and then to win a gold medal in the 2012 Olympics.

Tip for the top: Preparation.

Life after swimming: I would like to do the things that I have missed out on. Travel around the world, live on a beach and surf as much as I can.

Music: I listen to music to psych me up, up to an hour before racing. Things like Daft Punk. I then switch my focus to the actual race.

If I wasn’t a swimmer I would be a: I would have been better at school! Probably be working somewhere abroad.

Football, Cricket or Rugby: Rugby. It’s a man’s sport with its physical contact. I can’t stand the ‘diving’ in football.

Describe yourself in three words: Silly / Competitive / Relaxed

Would most like to meet: Lewis Hamilton, he always seems to calm.

Most prized possession: My dog, I have an Irish setter, also my phone, I need that!

Biggest influence on career: My Coach Eileen Adams

Sporting relations: We are quite a sporty bunch. My Uncle Lindsay played rugby for Scotland, while my mum runs marathons.
