Favourite event: 100m Butterfly. I always enjoyed butterfly from an early age. The 100m event is the middle distance (50 / 100 / 200) for the butterfly and is generally the one I perform best in.
Finest ever performance/Why: 200m Butterfly at the Olympic Trials. To swim a 3 second personal best in the heats was crazy, I definitely did not expect to swim that fast.
First senior international meet: Commonwealth Games 2006. I compete for Wales because my dad is Welsh.
My aspirations are: Now I am on my way to Beijing I want to win a medal at an Olympics and break a World Record.
Tip for the top: Never give in. You come back stronger after a setback.
Life after swimming: No idea that will hopefully be a long way away.
Music: Anything upbeat. I quite like dance music.
If I wasn’t a swimmer I would be a: Tennis player. I enjoy the game and tennis players receive more money and publicity!
Football, Cricket or Rugby: Not obsessed with any of them. I watch 6 Nations rugby and World Cups. I like athletics, diving, tennis and gymnastics.
Describe yourself in three words: Random / Independent / Hard to get to know
Would most like to meet: The inventor of Sponge Bob Square Pants. I’ve watched every episode and it always cheers me up.
Most prized possession: My pink elephant which my grandparents gave to me when I was born. Also, I love yoghurts I eat 3 or 4 a day. My favourite flavour is banana and custard.
Biggest influence on career: Family. No matter what, they are always there for me.
Sporting relations: My dad played football when he was younger, there are loads of trophies in the attic!
