GENERAL INFORMATION

First sporting success: Bronze at club championships when I was nine in the 50m Backstroke

Finest sporting moment: Making the World Championship aquad (2007)

Tip for the top: Never give up, no matter how hard it seems! And get as much sleep as you can!

First GB selection year: Junior - 2000, Senior - 2006

Sporting heroes: Steve Redgrave and Michael Phelps

Closest friends in sport: Natalie Prince, Claire Abraham, Chloe Winter and Rebecca Shaw - everyone I train with really!

Favourite sport other than swimming: I like watching tennis and gymnastics

Three words that best describe you: Friendly, happy and mad

Would most like to meet: Johnny Depp

Most prized possession: All my photos

Biggest influence on career: My mum and dad, my old coach Ron Philpot at Leatherhead and Bill Furniss at Nova

Toughest opponent: Anyone you race against is always tough as you're always trying to beat them

Any pets: I have a really tiny cat called Sophie

Biggest passion away from sport: Rading and baking cakes

How do you prepare to race: To prepare I like to think back on races when I have done well and good training sessions that I've had. It helps me to feel confident. To relax I like to read, talk to people on the phone and bake cakes!

Biggest disappointment: Dislocating my knee when I was 12 just after getting my first NQT. I didn’t think I’d be able to swim at the nationals but I managed to get back to swimming just in time! It always feel disappointed any time I feel I’ve not done as well as I could, but there’s no point in worrying about it for ages, you have to put it behind you.

Favourite venue: Sheffield, because it’s familiar and I really enjoy racing there

Education: I’m studying law at Nottingham University

Ultimate ambition: To compete at the Olympics

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Hopefully doing a job I enjoy, and being happy.
