| GENERAL INFORMATION |
|
At the World Championships Trials in Manchester (2001) Ian broke David Wilkies 25 year old Scottish 100m breaststroke record set at the Montreal Olympics. He then went on to smash Wilkie's 1976 200m breaststroke record of 2.15.11 at the Scottish Championships in Glasgow. Edmond wasn't born when Wilkie set the 25 year old record but he sliced a remarkable two and a half seconds off it by swimming 2.12.70, a time that would have won Olympic bronze in 2000.
