GENERAL INFORMATION:

Favourite Event: 100m breaststroke

Finest ever performance/Why: My world record swim in the final of the World Championships in Durban in 2006. It was my first major gold medal and I proved myself – it definitely has to be South Africa.

First senior international meet: Ukrainian Open 2000 (meatballs and rice for breakfast and a packet of crisps for lunch)

Role models: Liesel Jones, Lance Armstrong and my mum

My aspirations are: To win a Paralympic Gold medal

Tip for the top: Follow your dreams and don’t give up. Use your disappointments to fuel your ambition.

Life after swimming: Train to be an accountant and pursue other goals once I’ve achieved everything I want to in swimming.

Music: General – I’m not a huge music fan but do listen to chart stuff.

If I wasn‘t a swimmer I would be: Probably a golfer because I used to play with my parents, or some kind of sportsperson.

Would most like to meet:  Marry Poppins
                                                                                                                                                                                             Most prized possession: My house

Biggest influence on career: My mum

Sporting Relations: Haven’t got anyone that has been world class but my mum was a decent hockey player.
