MAIN FEATURE
Target: the big one – Ben Swain and Nick Robinson-Baker

Unless you’ve been there, and very few have, it’s hard to imagine the level of pressure that Ben Swain and Nick Robinson-Baker will be under when they arrive in Beijing next month.  The Olympic Games in the same city six months later will be challenging enough but in a way FINA’s diving World Cup promises to be even more intense.  Achieve your target and you book your part in the greatest sporting show on earth.  Fail and your Olympic dream is over for another four years.

For Britain’s 3m synchro pair, the target is simple: with China, Canada, the US and Germany already qualified for the Olympics in this event, Swain and Robinson-Baker need to place themselves in the top four of the rest.  Nothing else will do.  But it’s a challenge the young Brits relish – especially after their storming bronze medal, in the FINA World Series at Sheffield in September, which took them to third in the world rankings.
