Favourite event: 200m Butterfly because there is more to think about, and is more of a challenge. It is more tactical and you need to think about pacing. The 100m Butterfly is a bit quick.
Finest ever performance/Why: 100m Buttefly at the Olympic Trials. It was my biggest achievement so far, breaking the British Record in the heats. I then won the final and qualified for Beijing.
First senior international meet: European Short Course Championships in Trieste 2005
Role models: Steven Gerrard for his determination and drive. Michael Phelps because he is the complete swimmer, which is what every swimmer wants to be.
My aspirations are: To do as well as I can at the Olympics. I will be looking for personal bests and to make the final of the 200Fly.
Tip for the top: Master your technique first and never give in.
Life after swimming: Have a degree in law and to pursue that as a career. Be happy and I will maintain an interest in swimming.
Music: All types of music. I like Bon Jovi
If I wasn’t a swimmer I would be a: Musician. I play piano so would of pursed a career in music
Football, Cricket or Rugby: Football. Steven Gerrard is my favourite player also my family are huge fans.
Describe yourself in three words: Laid back (I am always last on pool side) / determined / friendly
Would most like to meet: John Lennon. He has so creative, had a vision for world peace, wrote Imagine and was a scouser!
Most prized possession: Watch which my friends all chipped in to buy me before I went to the Offshore Centre School in Australia when I was 16.
Biggest influence on career: Mum and Dad, so supportive. They know how to pick me up if I don’t swim well.
