GENERAL INFORMATION

Favourite Event: 100m backstroke / 400 freestyle

Finest ever performance/Why: The two 100m backstroke swims at Sheffield and Manchester where I equalled then beat the World record and my 400m swim at Berlin. All 3 swims were completely unexpected

First senior international meet:  2007 German Open, Berlin

Role models: Becky Adlington / Jo Jackson

My aspirations are: To go to Beijing and hopefully bring home a gold medal

Tip for the top: Be nice to those on the way up because you’ll meet them again on your way down. Believe in yourself and your dreams and you will achieve them. If in doubt-flat out!

Life after swimming: A driving instructor and hopefully coaching swimming

Music: Anything

If I wasn‘t a swimmer I would be a: I think I would be a coach

Describe yourself in three words: Bubbly, outgoing and serious

Would most like to meet: Michael Phelps

Most prized possession: My bed definitely

Biggest influence on career: Colin Hood / Carol Hunt
