MAIN NEWS
Close encounters – British water polo championships
The British Water Polo Championship finals could hardly have been closer with City of Manchester winning the women’s title on penalties and only the width of a post securing a single-goal victory for the Lancaster men. Sharon Rose reports from Manchester Aquatics Centre.

Standards were high across the tournament, which was very pleasing for Hume, and the excellent games were a strange counterpoint to the funding discussions about the sport taking place at the same venue.
