The AquaFun Programme is designed to encourage children – boys and girls – to learn the basic synchro moves whilst having fun and building confidence in the water. The lesson plans have been written so the Instructor can either follow them directly or create their own scheme of work using the lesson plans as a guide. AquaFun will compliment any swimming programme already running from Learn to Swim to competitive clubs.
Clubs Leisure Centres or Schools can easily include synchro to their existing plans to give greater variety to their swimmers and this could be an ideal opportunity for them to encourage more children to swim. It is also a programme that can run in existing swimming lessons, as
A crash course, linked with school swimming and within existing synchro/swimming clubs.
Aquafun is proving to be very popular. Since it's launch we have issued details of the programme to hundreds of interested Synchro/Swimming Teachers. Courses have been arranged all around the country including Northern Ireland.
The feedback we have received from the completed courses has been encouraging. The programme has been praised for being flexible as it can be easily adapted to suit all ages and abilities. The swimmers enjoy the course, which has been designed to be fun and some have already joined synchro clubs. Some organisers have arranged further courses as AquaFun has proved to be so enjoyable for the swimmers.
